English Bay is just south of Stanley Park and is the easiest downtown beach to reach. Lifeguards are on duty in summer swimming hours. In October it is better for walking, watching ships, and takeout. The summer fireworks are watched from here, and the crowd is huge. An ordinary evening is the comfortable version. Fine sand can sink stroller wheels.
